NLPN

A network for new and aspiring library professionals

‘Get career ready’ – collaboration with CILIP Y&H

We’re pleased to announce further details of our upcoming event, for which we are collaborating with the CILIP Yorkshire and Humberside member network.

The event will take place at the Sheffield Quaker Meeting House on Saturday 21st March 10am – 4pm.

Speakers will include Lisa Jeskins and Darren Flynn. Lisa will be sharing her experience of the practical benefits of being involved in professional networks and special interest group committees, and Darren will be covering designing, delivering and evaluating teaching and learning for librarians. Darren’s session will outline three aspects of a library teaching session: planning lesson goals, setting differentiated tasks and assessment for learning.

We have now selected the three successful applicants for the member presentations part of the day. They are:

Lyn Denny

Katherine Stephan

Holly Singleton

We are looking forward to seeing their presentations and learning from their experiences.

As part of the day, we will be trying something new for NLPN – a speed networking hour featuring professionals from sectors such as law, health and media libraries. This will be an excellent opportunity for attendees to ask information professionals any burning questions you might have about a particular sector.

Free tickets can be booked through Eventbrite here.
