A network for new and aspiring library professionals
The ethos of NLPN is to create a network for new and future library professionals, a network where, collectively, we can explore and develop our knowledge and practical skills in key areas of the information sector.
With that aim in mind we have included in our events an opportunity (for all– not just limited to early career professionals) to present on a topic of their choice. For inspiration, you might look to a work project, a dissertation topic or a personal project or it could be that you have an upcoming presentation (either internal/external/job interview) that you want to practice within a safe space. Previous presentations have covered topics such as activities for National Libraries Day, eBook accessibility, Open Access and a conference experience.
Our next event, NLPN: Voted by you, sponsored by CILIP ILIG and Bolinda, and taking place on Saturday 20th October at The University of Manchester main library, will include space in the programme for three 10 minute presentations.
This opportunity is open to everyone and submissions are welcome from groups as well as individuals.
If any of these apply: submit a PowerPoint (or similar) presentation, complete with notes to email@example.com by Wednesday 3rd October. We will notify all applicants and issue the full event line up by Friday 12th October. Please contact us on Twitter or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to discuss an idea before submitting a presentation.
